HQL Update: BIPOC Happy Hour Tonight! Plus October Talking Points Memo, Election Night Party, Lots of New Content, and More
In the era of Trump, every week feels like a year. This can be exhausting, but every day I’m energized by the incredible work that you’re all doing. I’m so proud of this community because of its exceptional creativity, hard work, and laser focus on doing the best, most strategic work that we can.
This is the final sprint! Then we celebrate, rest, and continue on.

ICYMI: FUNDRAISING DEADLINE – TUE. 10/27
The fundraising deadline for ALL Sister District candidates will be one week before the election, on Tuesday 10/27 at 11:59 ET. All ActBlue fundraising links will be shut off at this time, so please plan accordingly.
ISO: SOCIAL MEDIA SPOTLIGHTS
In Search Of: amazing volunteers to highlight on social! Social media can be a great way to show special appreciation for your super volunteers. If you have someone in mind, please let them know we’d like to showcase them in a post on HQ’s social media accounts. If the volunteer is excited about the idea, then please connect them with Ariana Rodriguez, Social Media and Content Manager.
BIPOC HAPPY HOUR – TONIGHT
Sister District recognizes that in order to build a truly inclusive organization, it is critically important to create safe spaces for BIPOC people to connect with each other. In furtherance of this goal, Sister District hosts a monthly BIPOC volunteer happy hour.
Our second happy hour will be tonight, Thursday, October 8 at 5pm PT / 7pm CT / 8pm ET. Join via this Zoom link. Future happy hours will occur on first Thursdays! Please let me know if you’d like to be added to a distribution list for this recurring event.
POLITICAL DIRECTOR CALL – TUE. 10/13
The last Political Director Call of the cycle is on Tuesday, October 13 at 5pm PT / 7pm CT / 8pm ET. Political Director Calls are held the second Tuesday of each month. They cover any current races and political strategy, field & fundraising metrics updates, and other political/programmatic topics.
VOLUNTEER LEADER CALL – THU. 10/15
Final Volunteer Call of the Year
Join us for our final GOTV prep call where we’ll answer all of your last minute questions about how to increase efficiency and attendance in these crucial, homestretch phonebanks. We’ll also spend some time in breakout rooms so that you can learn from each other. Co-Founders Rita Bosworth and Lala Wu will be special guests. This is it, don’t miss it!

Volunteer Leader Calls occur on the third Thursday of each month. Add these calls to your Google Calendar or Outlook. Calls are open to all District Captains and Affiliate leaders. These calls are recorded and can be accessed via the Resource Library.
ELECTION NIGHT PARTY – TUE. 11/3
Save the date for HQ’s election night party! This will be “open house” style on Election Night, 4-8pm PT / 6-10pm CT / 7-11pm ET, and you can drop by any time. We’ll be providing election results updates throughout the night. More details forthcoming, but RSVP here to get it on your calendar.
