Sister District Brooklyn

About our team

Welcome to a community of friends and neighbors living in Brooklyn and working together to support strategic state elections throughout the country. For the past two years, we've been working to elect "sister" candidates in purple states like Pennsylvania and Virginia, through canvassing, phone banking and fundraising. In 2017, we helped send Danica Roem to Virginia's House of Representatives and in 2018, we helped elect Liz Hanbidge as a state rep for Pennsylvania. Both women had never run for public office and defeated longtime incumbents. Sister District is now a proven successful model for winning down ballot races, with impressive wins in key states that have flipped state houses and broken Republican super majorities.

Our team is currently supporting two candidates for Virginia's House of Delegates: Shelley Simonds and Wendy Gooditis. 2019 is a huge year for Virginia - Democrats are just two seats down from flipping both the House of Delegates and the Senate, which would make the state a Democratic trifecta.
