A special session was called by the Democratic governor of Virginia to debate gun legislation; the session took place today, July 9th. Governor Northam called the legislature into special session after 13 people were gunned down in a Virginia Beach mass shooting in May adding to the 260+ mass shooting in the US, this year alone.
