Today, we are thrilled to announce our first wave of 2018 endorsements. Supporting these 14 incredible candidates helps us achieve our strategic goals of (1) flipping chambers blue, (2) holding chambers blue, and (3) making inroads into badly gerrymandered states.

We have matched each of our 65+ volunteer teams to at least one candidate for support throughout the entire campaign cycle. Our teams are already getting to work with fundraising to provide critical early money. We are also working with campaign staff so that our volunteers can start phonebanking, textbanking, writing postcards, and canvassing for their candidates as soon as possible. We will be able to announce additional races as filing deadlines and primary elections pass.

All of these candidates have accepted our offer of support. Many are nested within key swing congressional districts. They have all agreed to the following policy principles:

  1. We must protect a woman’s right to choose the health care and reproductive services she wants and needs.
  2. We need to protect and expand our social safety net, not dismantle it.
  3. We should pursue common-sense gun safety policies, consistent with the Second Amendment and local community standards and needs, which vary from community to community.
  4. Climate change is real and we need to protect our environment.

We could not be prouder to be supporting this slate of fantastic leaders who will lead in accordance with our shared progressive values, and who need our help to create a big, beautiful blue wave in 2018.
