We’re thrilled to introduce our first wave of 2025 endorsements —seven deeply committed leaders who are ready to defend and expand Virginia’s Democratic majority this November.
Last year, Democrats flipped the Virginia House of Delegates and held the Senate, creating a blue firewall in the South. But with just a one-seat majority in the House, every race matters—and these candidates are running in some of the most competitive districts in the Commonwealth.
They’re educators, veterans, organizers, policy wonks, public servants, and working parents. They’re fighting for better schools, affordable health care, reproductive freedom, gun safety, and economic justice. And every single one of them needs our support to win.
Meet the Candidates
Kimberly Pope Adams – HD-82 (Challenger)
After losing by just 53 votes in 2023, Kimberly is back with a vengeance. A public finance expert from a working-class union family, she’s fighting for safe neighborhoods, fully funded schools, and reproductive rights.
Nadarius Clark – HD-84 (Incumbent)
The youngest Democrat ever elected to Virginia’s House and a fearless fighter for working-class communities, Nadarius is a powerhouse on gun safety, mental health, racial justice, and education.
Joshua Cole – HD-65 (Incumbent)
A community leader, pastor, and former youngest-ever Black delegate from the region, Josh is defending this critical seat after flipping it blue again in 2023. He’s an outspoken advocate for reproductive rights, school funding, and affordable housing.
Michael Feggans – HD-97 (Incumbent)
An Air Force veteran, tech entrepreneur, and climate champion, Michael flipped HD-97 in 2023. In his first year, he earned Rookie of the Year from the VEA and helped pass legislation supporting veterans, coastal resiliency, and public schools.
Lily Franklin – HD-41 (Challenger)
A former high school teacher and chief of staff to Delegate Sam Rasoul, Lily came within 183 votes of flipping this rural red seat in 2023. She’s running again to bring economic investment, better education, and health care access to Southwest Virginia.
Elizabeth Guzman – HD-22 (Challenger)
A social worker, former delegate, and the first Latina immigrant elected to Virginia’s legislature, Elizabeth is running to retake a seat in a fast-changing Northern Virginia district. She brings deep experience on workers’ rights, reproductive freedom, and immigrant justice.
Phil Hernandez – HD-94 (Incumbent)
A former Obama administration policy advisor and civil rights attorney, Phil flipped this seat blue in 2023 and hit the ground running—passing 15 bills in his first year. He’s fighting for working families in Norfolk, with a focus on public education, health care, and economic opportunity.
These seven races are the foundation of our 2025 strategy to defend and expand Democratic power in Virginia—and build the momentum we need heading into the 2026 midterms.
We’ll be rolling out more races soon, but these are our top priorities right now. Sister District teams and volunteers across the country will be fundraising, phonebanking, postcarding, and supporting these candidates from now through Election Day.
Let’s get to work.
